Register your self as volunteer

You have chosen to voluntarily enter into this opportunity to develop a lasting impression upon the student is chosen career path. It is purposed to be a rewarding experience for the student, spending your time with the student discussing educational and career related developmental activities that will assist in guiding the student to resources that they may use to further achieve their goals. No requirement is asked of you that would have you financially obligated or time-stricken to mentor any of the students you agree to mentor.

We agree that…
  • The mentoring relationship will last for the duration of the student's time in high school. The amount of interaction will be at your discretion and availability. It is suggested that a system of weekly phone or video calls to the student during the agreement takes place in order to familiarize yourselves and establish a system of checks and balances to assist the student in their experience. This agreement will end by an amicable settlement either at the completed length of the student's high school tenure and having achieved as much as possible or in the event that should one of you no longer feel capable of holding a high standard of accountability.
  • Meetings/Calls are suggested to take place between yourself, at least one parent and the student. The meeting/call times, once agreed, should not be cancelled unless this is unavoidable. If so, please notify the other party in advance as to avoid any inconvenience. At the end of each meeting it is suggested that a date for the next meeting/call is established and agreed to.
  • Each meeting/call will last a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 1-2 hours.
  • The aim of the mentorship is to assist with the following:
    a) Expectations of the chosen career
    b) Resources that the student can research and prepare for
    c) Information regarding their educational path
    d) If possible, provide a safe field experience for the student to have a visual
understanding of the typical day in the career.
  • We agree that the role of the mentor is to:
Provide the time and experience/information necessary to maintain or increase the student's enthusiasm for their chosen career. Professionalism is expected at all times and will remain an integral part of this agreement between both parties.
  • We agree that the role of the mentee is to:
Be respectful and appreciative of the opportunity provided by the mentor and remain completely engaged in the time allocated to the mentee. It is to be understood that the mentee will not allow any distractions during the agreed meeting/call period.
  • We agree to keep the content of these meetings confidential and between the mentor, parent and student except that which is shared to the student's file as a result or an achievement gained from the meeting/call.
  • The mentor agrees to be honest and provide constructive feedback to the mentee. The mentee agrees to be open to the feedback.
